Obituary
Gary Lee Stoops, 74, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2023. He was born to the late Harold William and Mary Ellen Louise (Girton) Stoops on May 11, 1949 in Fort Wayne. Gary was a proud veteran of the US Navy. He married Joyce Kay Cleveland on August 30, 1969 in La Crosse, WI. Gary retired from Nucor Building Systems as a Draftsman on May 30, 2014. He was a member of Westview Alliance Church. Gary was a proud father and grandfather.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Joyce Stoops; son, Gary Lee Stoops Jr (Dawn Stoops) of Fort Wayne; grandsons, Simon and Nathan Stoops; siblings, Jim (Pat) Stoops of Fort Wayne, David (Deb) Stoops of Fort Wayne and Bill (Kim) Stoops of Detroit, MI; and a host of friends and family.
A memorial service will be held at Westview Alliance Church (9804 Illinois Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804) on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 am with memorial visitation an hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westview Alliance Church.
