Obituary

Gary N. Dunno, 70, of Fort Wayne passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at his home after a brave and courageous battle with ALS. He was born in Van Wert, OH to the late Earl Dunno and Dulcie Simpson and was a 1969 graduate of Van Wert High School. Gary retired from United Telephone and was a lifetime member of Elks 1197 of Van Wert, OH. He loved to cook for friends and family and travel. He and Laura traveled to over twenty countries and 49 states and shared all their adventures, not with pride but with true appreciation of nature, history, and beauty of God's creation with all of us. His favorite trips were the ones taken with his grandchildren and other family to Myrtle Beach over the years. His sense of adventure was captured in photos, stories and memories shared with all. He made you feel like you were right there with him. His laughter and smile were contagious, he never knew a stranger acknowledging all those he crossed paths with. His unconditional love of family and friends was a pillar of his existence and his words, actions, and thoughts were genuine and true. His love for his wife and children and grandchildren was great and his family and extended family and friends were his greatest joy. Gary is survived by his wife of 41 years, Laura of Ft Wayne whom he married on April 1, 1980 and children, Nicholle (John) Grose of Fort Wayne, Brian Martin of Montclair, NJ, and Scott Martin of Greenville, TN; grandchildren, Victoria, Natalie, and John Grose all of Fort Wayne; Hannah and Maximillion Martin of Montclair, NJ; and Avery Martin of Greenville, TN; brothers, Patrick (Kim) Dunno of Fort Wayne, Doug (Betty) Dunno of New Haven, IN, Mike Dunno of Delphos, OH; sisters, Yvonne Dunno of Plainfield, IN, Evealyn Sennebogen of Lima, OH, and Shelley Ball of St. Paris, OH; sisters-in-law, Susan (Dave) Schroeder of Leipsic, OH, Rhonda Wolke of Ottawa, OH, Kris (Marc) Hungate of Lakewood Ranch, FL; brothers-in-law, Bill Ebbesmier of Boulder, CO and Roger Wolke of Ottawa, OH; mother-in-law, Marnie Ebbesmier of Ottawa, OH; and many nieces and nephews and cousins. Gary Norman Dunno will be missed but rest assured we will all be together again for eternity on an all expense paid trip where there is no pain, disappointment, no more exits, only together forever.
