Obituary
Pastor Frederick Alexander Sleet, 73, of Fort Wayne, was born March 29, 1952, in Anderson, Indiana, to the late Frederick Lloyd Sleet and Mary Helen Alexander Sleet. He is the oldest of 5 children, being the only son. His 4 sisters are Cynthia Gentry; Pamela Sleet, Nettie Newsome and Ingrid Sleet. Nettie Newsome, passed away at the age of 57, on March 26, 2018. He had been serving as the Pastor/Servant of St. John Missionary Baptist since February 13, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn J. Sleet; children, Corey Sleet, Roderick (Kristian) Sleet and Alexis Sleet; grandsons, Eric Scott Jr. and expecting, Thomas-Lloyd Alexander Sleet; Goddaughter Denise Lynch; grand-Godchildren Jeremiah Anderson; Jo'Nia Larry; twins, Joviair and Jocelyn Larry; Sisters, Cynthia Gentry of Decatur, Alabama; Pamela Sleet of Davidson, North Carolina, Ingrid Sleet and Felta Carter of Anderson, Indiana.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 8 th , 2025 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church (2421 S Hanna St, Fort Wayne, IN 46803) from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Celebration of Life will be on Friday, May 9 th , 2025 at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church of Fort Wayne (1331 Gay St, Fort Wayne, IN 46803) at 11:00 am. A private burial will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ministries at St. John Missionary Baptist Church at PO Box 10843, Fort Wayne, IN 46801.
