Frances Gail Dorton Huff, 88, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away Monday, June 30, 2025. Born in Scott County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Margaret Bowen Dorton. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jon C. Huff, her son, Robert Lee McClellan, and her daughter, Margaret Kathrine McClellan. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Lester, Jr., Johnny, and Jackie Dorton, and her three sisters, Patricia Hubble, Helen McClellan, and Barbara Jones. In May of 1955 she married Lloyd McClellan.

Left to carry on her memory is her sidekick, partner in crime, and special forever friend, Janos Elder of Fort Wayne, IN, her daughter in law, Hope McClellan, five brothers–James (Ronnie) Dorton and wife Nina of Kingsport, TN, Charles (Dave) Dorton and wife Cindy of Carter's Valley, VA, Frankie (Frank) Dorton and girlfriend Suzanne of Richlands, VA, Richard Allen Dorton and wife Rita of Kingsport, TN, and Bobby Joe Dorton and wife Vickie of [email protected] Kingsport, TN–as well as two sisters, Virginia Carol Lyons and husband Marvin of Kingsport, TN, and Betty Sharon Ketron and husband Joe of Hiltons, VA. She is survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Gail is also survived by her beloved Lucy, a rescue Schnauzer.

Gail was a graduate of Rye Cove High School in Rye Cove, VA, where she was an avid basketball player. She later made her home and lived out her life in Fort Wayne, IN. Gail enjoyed putting together puzzles and watching the Game Show Network.

In honor of Gail's wishes, there will be no memorial service or funeral. A private internment will be held at a later date.
