Obituary

Evelyn L. Kahlenbeck, 100, went Home to the Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2025. She was born to the late Harold and Nellie (Sheets) Scribner on December 3, 1924. In her 100 years of life, she loved her family and friends and was a farm wife who did everything from milking cows to taking care of her flowers and vegetable gardens.

Evelyn is survived by her sons, William (Betty) and Ned Kahlenbeck; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Keith Scribner, Verne Scribner, and Shirley Warner; and a host of relatives and friends. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Kahlenbeck; daughter, Sharon Kahlenbeck; son, Jerald Kahlenbeck; and siblings, Doris Scribner, Peggy Bair, Florence Addis, Raymond Scribner, and Harold Scribner.

Funeral service will be on Thursday, May 1 ^st , 2025 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825). Visitation will also be on Wednesday, April 30 ^th , 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
