Eugene Fay Gottfried, 86, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on Saturday, October 6, 2018. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Eugene was the son of the late William and Ethel Gottfried. He honorably served our country as a Korean War US Army veteran. He worked for Planet Instrument, Peter Eckrich, and Colonial Pizza prior to working for Famous Fish of Stroh as the General Manager for 33 years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Breakfast Sertoma Club. He enjoyed watching the Cubs, Komets, and the WNBA. During his youth he enjoyed playing softball and bowling. Surviving are his children, Lynne (Doug) Rigler, Sheri Pettibone, Steve (Laura) Gottfried, Valerie (Doug) Parson; 22 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, and 2 sisters; Missy the cat/dog, and Harvey the big dog. Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Gottfried, 1 brother, and 3 sisters. Service is 11 am, Friday, October 12, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church with calling one hour prior. Calling at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton, on Thursday, October 11, 2018 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm. Memorials may be made to the family.
