Ethel Hicks, age 78, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Fort Wayne. She was born in Fairborn, OH to the late James Tibbs and Sylvania Hicks. Ethel worked in her family cleaning business for 17 years. She will be remembered as a strong and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Ethel is survived by her husband, Curlis Hicks; children, J.R. (Jackie) Hicks, Tina (Todd Easterwood) Lano, Jessica (Chris Duke) Smith all of Fort Wayne; 7 grandchildren, Jeni Hicks, Ron (Sasha) Hicks, Brandyn (Brittney) Hicks, Kaela (Austin) Hyland, Lacie Lano, Madysen Smith, and Chase Smith; 21 great-grandchildren; and brothers, John (Jewel) Tibbs and Archie Tibbs. She was preceded in death by her sister, Lorraine Webster. A Celebration of Life is 5:00 pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N.
