Eric Lamont Coates, age 49, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Baltimore, MD on October 27, 1971. Eric served as the Minister of Music for Come As You Are Community Church and was also the founder of The Gospel Café Experience. He is survived by his mother, Doris E. Coates recently of Fort Wayne, originally from Newport News, VA; and sister, Monica Coates of Murfreesboro, TN. Eric was preceded in death by his father, Paul Anthony Coates and sister, Camille Coates. Service is 12:00 pm, Saturday October 16, 2021 at Abundant Life Church, 3301 E. Coliseum Blvd., with a walk-thru viewing beginning two hours prior at 10:00 am.
