Ellen Marie Kelder passed away in the presence of her son and daughter on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan on July 7th, 1948. Ellen grew up in Butler, Indiana, and graduated from Edgerton High School in 1966.

Ellen had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to casinos, reading, watching Jeopardy with her long-time boyfriend, Doug Wiley, and also watching crime shows on TV.

She loved animals, especially her dog, Shorty, and her cats, Luna and Riley.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Rose Gabet; two brothers, Michael and Ronald Gabet, and two sisters, Patricia Miller and Rose Ann Dohner; and her long-term boyfriend Doug Wiley.

She is survived by one brother, Rick Gabet, Butler Indiana; her daughter, Susan (Kelder) Alt, and her son, Steven Kelder; three grandchildren, Brady Winebrenner, Brianna Winebrenner, and Robert “Bobby” Alt; and two great granddaughters, Maia and Sunny, all from Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 6557 North Clinton Street, Fort Wayne Indiana.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m with visitation 1 hour prior.
Burial will take place following the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, Ohio.
