Obituary

Elizabeth Jane Duff passed into heaven Monday, March 10, on her 85th BIRTHDAY! She was born in Irvine, KY, into a family of 13, and grew up on a picturesque farm. She moved to Fort Wayne and successfully worked in the banking industry. She also was a dedicated mother and grandmother. Surviving are her children M. Elaine (Jim) Berning, of Fort Wayne, Debbie Hiss of Columbia City, Kim (Rick) Pease of Woodburn, and Gregory Koenig of Fort Wayne. She was a loving grandmother to 8 grandchildren, Travis (Ashley) and Seth (Samantha) Grimes, Monica, Janelle, and Matthew (Lexi) Berning, Jackie (Leean) Justice, Jamie (David) Hoot, and Jasmine (Alex) Fisher, 7 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Caleb, Jacob Grimes, Allison and Zoey Grimes, Max Berning, and Andi Justice. Beth is survived by her brothers John Davis (Ruth) Tipton of Fort Wayne, and Roger Tipton of Rock Hill, SC. She is preceded in death by her ambitious parents, Clarence and Ella Tipton, and her siblings, Ona, Ray, Florine, Jim, Ruby, Carol, Jerry, and Eddie, as well as her husband, Bill Duff. Funeral Service is 11am Sat. March 22, 2025 with 1-hr visitation prior at St. Peter's Lutheran Church; 7110 East State, Fort Wayne, and burial at St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation also on Fri. March 21, 2025 4 to 7pm , Fairhaven Funeral Home, 6557 North Clinton Street. Memorials may be given to Lutheran Life Villages at Anthony, Magnolia.
