Elisabeth Ruth Halla “Lisa” Lima, 79 (always 35), passed away peacefully at her home surrounded with lots of love by her family on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. Born in Munich, Germany, Lisa was a daughter of the late Hans and Ruth (Schmidt) Holzer. She moved to America in 1979, where she would go on to build a life centered around family, friendship, and hard work.
From an early age, Lisa had an outgoing and welcoming personality that naturally drew people to her. She had a special gift for truly “seeing” people—listening, engaging in meaningful conversation, and building lasting relationships. Those qualities led to a successful and longtime career in sales. She also proudly owned and operated JL Lartin Construction for many years.
Lisa dearly cherished her family and loved spending time with her husband, Alex, and gathering with those she loved most. She had an incredible talent for baking, and anyone fortunate enough to enjoy one of her homemade treats quickly looked forward to the next. Lisa also had a deep love for animals, and her family always knew there was a chance she might come home with a new pet needing love and care.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Alex; children, Gernot Kropp, Sonja Cowart, Jürgen (Karey) Kropp, Christine (Andy) Adolph, Sabine Koeber, Tanja (James) Ringle, and Sandra (Larry) Law; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Concordia Cemetery Gardens Chapel, 5365 Lake Avenue, with calling from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow.
Memorial contributions may be made to Humane Fort Wayne.
