Eileen Y. Nix, age 82, passed away December 21, 2018 in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born in Spencerville, IN to the late Fordyce and Ida Gruber. Eileen served many years as the Auxiliary President for the American Legion Post 330 and was also a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of New Haven. She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Ron) Hummel of Fort Wayne, Bernard (Angie) Nix of New Haven, Jeffrey (Holly) Nix of Fort Wayne, Michael Nix of New Haven, and Daniel (Shannon) Nix of Fort Wayne; 7 grandchildren, Melissa, Ronald III, Byron, Adam, Ryan, Natalie, and Jordan; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Milton (Marie) Gruber; and sisters-in-law, Patricia Nix and Norma Gruber. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Adrian Bernard Nix; and her siblings, Leila Hamilton, Eldon Gruber, and Rose Waters. Service is 10:00 am, Thursday, December 27, 2018 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St, with calling one hour prior. Calling also Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
