Druscilla Somers Doehrman died peacefully at home in Naples, FL on December 29, 2024, surrounded by her three daughters and two sons-in-law. Born in Pasadena, CA on July 30, 1929, to Byron H. and Gladys R. Somers, Dru spent her childhood between California, Illinois, and Indiana. Summers in Michigan on Little Traverse Bay were the one constant, the first half of her life in Bayview, and the later in Habor Springs. Dru was the beloved wife of the late Dale F. Doehrman and a devoted mother to her children, Jane Eberly (Reed), Jeanette Schouweiler, and Betsy Haenel (Mike). She was the adored Grammy to her eleven grandchildren and dearly loved G.G. to her fifteen great-grandchildren. Dru is survived by two sisters, Sally Von Behren and Jeanette Quilhot. She was preceded in death by sisters, Joan Somers and Jane Lamm; half-sister, Dorothy Hoehn; and three brothers-in-law. She is survived by sixteen nieces and nephews. Known for her radiant smile and generous spirit, Dru's life was rooted in her faith, love of family and friends, and boundless energy for service and care of others. Her family is forever grateful to her devoted assistants and companions who filled her final years with love, laughter, and joy. Their compassionate care of her and friendship to the entire family will never be forgotten. There will be a private family service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to AVOW Hospice of Naples, St John's Episcopal Church Naples, Canterbury School Ft Wayne, and the Ft Wayne Philharmonic.
