Obituary

Drew Steven Tapp, age 33, born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, tragically passed away Tuesday June 17, 2025. Born on October 23, 1991 to Steve and Holly Tapp, he began his journey through this crazy thing called life. As we write this obituary, we can hear Drew saying "if I could write this myself, I would start it with a meme, and it end with a punch line". His sense of humor was one of his best qualities. Drew graduated from Homestead High School in 2010, leaving a few teachers wanting to retire from teaching. He worked at Kelly Box and Package Company for almost 10 years, being one of their top employees, starting at the bottom and working his way up, he had big goals, and he worked so hard to get there. He enjoyed many things including Anime, reading books, all different genres of music (he wasn't the best singer but he loved to sing "you are my sunshine" to his wife whenever she wasn't feeling well), movies, scrolling through Wikipedia for hours and learning everything and anything, the Detroit Lions (he said he was ready for them to hurt him this season), his amazing family (there is a lot) and his beautiful wife. He was reunited with an old friend, and little did he know the love of his life in 2017, and the sparks flew like the 4th of July. In 2022 he married his best friend, Kristen. No one will ever forget as he wiped the happy tears away from her eyes during their wedding ceremony, he said "I thought that is what I supposed to do". They were inseparable, they completed each other, sharing their home with their dog, Shelby. Drew passed away knowing that Monty Python and the Holy Grail is one of the greatest movies of all time, the Harry Potter Book series will forever be way better than the movies, and that the Tapp boys are bad boys for life. YEET. Survived by his overly patient and most loving wife, Kristen (Colter) Tapp, parents, Steve and Holly Tapp, grandmother, Joanie Henkel, brothers, Philip Tapp (Mandy) and Lucas Tapp, and his pride and joy, his nephews, Emerson and Blaise Tapp. In celebration, his wife welcomes you to join her for a memorial service on Friday June 27 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 2305 Goshen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana with a greeting starting at 12:30 p.m. Immediately following, all are welcome to share in a celebration of life dinner and party at the Eagles FOE 248, 4940 Bluffton Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
