Douglas F. Hart, 80, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Doug was a son of the late Irvin and Jane (Nelson) Hart. Doug graduated from North Side High School, class of 1960. Doug took his skills with HVAC and earned his certificate in HVAC in Chicago. After years of working together for Paul R. Hosler, Doug and his friend Jim Felger formed Felger Hart Inc. in 1983. Doug continued to provide high quality services though out the Fort Wayne area until his retirement in 2008. Today Felger Hart still operates its high-quality services throughout the area. Doug enjoyed being outdoors, laying by the pool, being at the lake, fishing, and rooting for Notre Dame. He was always tinkering around whether in his workshop or his collection of trains he enjoyed. Surviving are his wife Pamela "Pam" Hart; children, Cheryl (Michael) Steigmeyer, Michele Branning, Amanda (Chris Anderson) Mendenhall; grandsons, Nik Branning, Michael Branning, Aiden Harmon, Colten Mendenhall; siblings, Irvin (Carolyn) Hart, Deborah (Jay) Hayes; along with many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Doug's Life will be Saturday, June 24, 2023 from 11 am to 3 pm at Autumn Ridge Country Club, 11420 Auburn Road. Memorials may be made to Allen County Police K-9 Fund or the Fort Wayne Police K-9 Fund. FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services is handling arrangements.
