Dorothy Ann (Hughes) Everhart was called home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on June 25, 2019. She succumbed to complications following an accident at home. Dorothy, whose father was a career soldier in the Air Force, was born in Cheyenne, WY. Most of her youth was spent in the Panama Canal zone. While there, she and her brother were members of the Olympic swim team, and together won many first place awards for swimming and diving. Dorothy graduated from South Side High School and went on to get her license in hairdressing. Deciding that this was not her career choice, she worked for Hires Automotive until she found her calling as a certified debt collector for over 35 years.
Her hobbies were spoiling her grandchildren, spending time with her girlfriends, and hitting the garage sale circuit. She took great pride in her flowers and each spring looked forward to making her home a show piece.
Dorothy will be remembered by her husband, Skip as the absolute joy of his life. A best friend who was a loving and devoted companion for 28 years. Skip takes great joy in knowing she will be waiting for him at Heaven's gates. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Earl "Skip" Everhart; son, Daniel S. (Lillian) Roberts; sister, Lea (Hughes) Kenney; the loves of her life, two grandchildren, Payton and Lidan; one nephew and 3 nieces. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Delmus and Maria Hughes; and her brother, Charles Hughes.
