Surrounded by loved ones, Donna Loveless went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, September 15, 2023. Donna was born in Subic Bay, the US Naval Base in the Philippines on November 26, 1959, to Donald and Anatalia (Anita) Thorp. In 1961, Donna moved to Michigan with her family and then in 1964, moved to New Haven, Indiana. She is a 1978 graduate of New Haven High School. She married the love of her life, Marshall Loveless on August 1, 1987, and they made a strong duo for 36 loving years. Marshall founded a HVAC business called Tri-State Mechanical, Inc., and Donna ran the company with him as VP and Secretary from 1992-2010. Together they worked side by side to build a successful business while raising a large family of which they were extremely proud.
Donna was a beautiful woman inside and out, clever, sassy and had a great sense of humor. She was a cheerleader in high school and in college. Donna was also a part of the Filipino-American Dance Troop of Fort Wayne for many years growing up. Once marrying Marshall, their blended family became one and Donna really enjoyed cooking and creating a home. She was known to have the best dish at any get together and whipping up the most delicious recipes. She and Marshall greatly enjoyed golfing together and with friends and family. She was Golf League Champion multiple times at various Fort Wayne courses.
Donna is survived by her dear mother, Anita Thorp of New Haven. Her beloved husband, Marshall Loveless. Brother, John Thorp (Pamella) and sister, Mary Franco of New Haven. Two beloved children of her own: Sean Shaffer, Fort Wayne and Shane Shaffer (Alyssa), Vandalia, OH and three bonus children: Shaun Loveless (Jenifer), Michael Loveless (Rachel) and Tawny Loveless all of Fort Wayne. Twelve Grandchildren were blessed with her love: Aaliyah and Max Shaffer (Sean), DeAzah Edwards (Tawny), Milo, Noah and Lincoln Loveless, Lucas and Justus Hall (Michael), Evelyn, Scarlett, Callan and Halle Shaffer (Shane); Two Great Grandchildren were blessed with her love: Nova and Nyla Edwards (DeAzah) in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews. Also greatly loved were her sweet dogs, Sammy and Missy.
Donna is preceded in death by her father, Donald Thorp of New Haven. Grandparents Nazario and Maria Manabat as well as Varion and Cema Thorp.
A Celebration of Life open-house will be on Sunday, October 22, from 1-5 PM, at the Whispering Creek Golf Course banquet facility in New Haven, IN.
