Donald W. Borches, 86, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday August 18th, 2025. He was born in Kentucky to the late Wilbur and Lucille Borches. After graduating High School, Don served in the US Army Active Reserves. He then graduated from Ohio College of Applied Sciences with a degree in Civil Engineering. During his career Don was employed by the states of Kentucky and Indiana, and he also worked for private firms. He was a member of Bethel Church. Don was a devoted fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Indianapolis Colts, and IU men's basketball. He was a talented wood worker who crafted furniture, carvings and many other items out of wood. He was a member of the Huntertown Woodworkers Club. Don enjoyed playing golf, gardening, fishing, but especially looked forward to a cigar and a glass of bourbon. Don is survived by his daughter, Patty (Greg) Ingermann; son, Robert Henry "Hank" (Kelly) Wilson Jr; grandchildren, Zach (Carolina Baltazar-Ingermann) Ingermann, Luke Ingermann, Abby (Sonny) Sinha, Robert Wilson, Taylor Eaton, Jack Eaton, and Charlie Eaton; great grandchildren, Iván Baltazar-Ingermann, and Cece Sinha; siblings, James Borches, and Julianne Baumer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Borches; son, George "Jeff" Wilson; and brother John Borches. A private graveside service will be held at Huntertown Cemetery where Don will be laid to rest next to his loving wife Carol. • 2 Timothy 4:7 – "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
