Dennis Edwin Miller was born May 27, 1949 to Gerald Miller and Corky Miller in Fort Wayne, IN. He died peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Heritage Pointe of Huntington.
Denny graduated from Eastside High School in Butler, IN Class of 1967. He actively served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from March of 1968 to May of 1970.
After a very short career at Tokheim, Denny started in the insurance business at the age of 21. In 1981 he began his career as a Financial Advisor with Shearson/Lehman Brothers later named Smith Barney. In 1994, he and business partner Scott Fergusson went independent and created Fergusson Miller Asset Management Corp which was the second independent firm in Fort Wayne. In 2001, he partnered with Shelly Christian and most recently Colin Zwiebel. He was currently the President of Miller, Christian & Zwiebel Asset Mgt. Corp.
He was a member of The Chapel serving as a Stephen Minister and active in Discipleship Walks. Using his gift of Godly wisdom, he mentored many over the years. He served and thoroughly enjoyed mission trips to Guatemala and Haiti. He was also able to take two trips to Israel with dear friends from The Chapel.
Denny is survived by his wife, Deborah J. Miller; son, Matthew (June) Miller of Fort Myers, FL; grandchildren, McKenzie, Jackson and Bryce all of Fort Myers, FL; and sister, Sandy McMurtrie of Fort Wayne. He was predeceased by his parents and son, Jeffrey Miller.
A Memorial Service for Denny will be held Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at The Chapel (2505 W. Hamilton Road S, Fort Wayne, IN 46814) with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be at The Chapel on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
