Dennis Allen Johnson age 79, of Fort Wayne, IN passed away Monday, November 17, 2025 in Venice, FL.  He was born in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Leonard and Leon Johnson.  Dennis graduated from Hoagland High School and continued his education at Ball State obtaining a Master's Degree.  While attending Ball State he was an all-conference volleyball player.  Dennis taught at New Haven High School for 35 years, where he coached girls' volleyball, and also served as men's volleyball coach at IPFW.  He was a member of Taylor Chapel Ministries, an avid fisherman and golfer, a loyal Chicago Cubs fan, and a supporter of IU basketball.  Dennis enjoyed working in his yard and spending time at the beach watching the sunset and collecting shark's teeth.  Above all, Dennis cherished his family especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Karen Johnson;  two children, Leslie (Brian) Lawson and Chris (Heather) Johnson;  five grandchildren, Anna, Delaney, Knox, Chase, and Dane;  and his brothers, Ronald (Shirley) Johnson, Keith (Carolyn) Johnson, and Steve (Becky) Johnson.

Dennis was also preceded in death by his sister, Janis Hudson.

Service is 5:00 pm, Sunday, December 7, 2025 at Taylor Chapel Ministries, 10145 Maysville Rd., with calling three hours prior beginning 2:00 pm at Taylor Chapel.  Memorials may be made to Taylor Chapel Ministries or Cancer Services of N.E.
