Dennis W. Adkins, age 77, formerly of Abilene, TX passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2023 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Abilene, TX to the late James and Mary Adkins. Dennis served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy Submarine Service. He owned and operated his own auto body shop in Texas and will be remembered as being deeply devoted to God. Dennis is survived by his wife, Vivian Lynn Adkins; sons, Dennis Shawn Stevens, Donovan Lynn Stevens, Douglas Smith, David Smith, and Eric Adkins; and his 7 grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Bob Adkins. Service is 10:00 am, Thursday, November 9, 2023 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 202 W. Rudisill Blvd. Burial will take place at Marion National Cemetery. Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services are handling the arrangements.
