Deborah Ann
Bohr
Feb 7, 1949 — Jul 2, 2026
Deborah Ann (Kautenburger) Bohr
Deborah was a lifelong learner and proud graduate of Arcadia High School and attended Northern Arizona University. She built a life centered on faith, family, kindness, and finding joy in simple things.
Deborah was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Bohr, and by her parents, Wallace and Ann Kautenburger.
She is lovingly remembered by her brother, Jim Kautenburger (Julie); her son, Paul Joseph Thuringer, Jr. (Angela); her daughter, Becca Battistelli (Mike); and her cherished grandchildren, Ava Thuringer, James Thuringer, and Mia Battistelli. She is also survived by her nephews, Kasey Kautenburger (Nicole) and Sean Kautenburger, along
with her great-nieces and great-nephew, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
Deborah had a lifelong love of birds and animals, and she found happiness in reading, playing the piano, singing in her church choir, camping, and exploring the beauty of Arizona and Indiana. She delighted in sharing laughter with family and friends. She was the family’s historian, blessed with an extraordinary memory for people, stories, and family connections. She treasured preserving those memories and sharing them with future generations.
A longtime member of Christ Church Lutheran in Phoenix, Deborah’s faith was the foundation of her life. She faced life’s challenges with unwavering optimism, a warm smile, and quiet trust in God. Her kindness, generosity, and positive spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Above all, Deborah was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. Her gentle heart, compassionate nature, and steadfast love will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those whose lives she enriched.
Funeral and memorial service arrangements are pending and will be announced later.
Deborah’s legacy is one of love, faith, kindness, and joy. Her memory will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
