Obituary
Deborah K. "Debbie" Harkless, 71, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Debbie was born in Anchorage, Alaska, on December 6, 1953 to the late Robert and Gwendolyn Thomas. Debbie was then raised in Davisburg, Michigan. During her working years, Debbie worked in medical billing and retired from Parkview Hospital. She loved the beach and spent the winters is Destin, Florida. She met the love of her life Brian Harkless and were happily married for 25 years. Surviving are her husband, Brian; daughter, Amy Martin of Fenton, MI, siblings, Bob (Becky) Thomas of Lapeer, MI, Jane (Keith) Elston of Fenton, MI, Marianne (Dan) Easley of Apolla, PA; grandchildren, Mitchell, Zachery, and Emily Kaplan. Debbie was preceded in death by her son, Scott Martin; and sister, Peggy Adam. Private Family Services will be held in Michigan at a later date. Memorials may be made to Jed Foundation: donation in memory of Scott Martin at jedfoundation.org or Stillwater Hospice. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Stillwater Hospice for their exceptional care of Debbie.
