Dean L. Maggart, 71, passed away Thursday, March 25th, 2021 in Fort Wayne. He was born in Wolf Lake, IN to the late Gerald Maggart and Virginia Stout, who survives of Columbia City, IN. Dean worked 34 years as a railroad conductor for Norfolk Southern. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. Dean loved working outside and caring for his flowers. He is survived by his partner of 39 years, Ronald Richards of Fort Wayne; children, Tony (Cathy) Maggart, David (Karen McLemore) Maggart, Lucas (Andrea) Maggart, and Michelle (Steven) Schnelker all of Fort Wayne; 7 grandchildren; siblings, Vicki (Bud) Darr of Columbia City, IN, Carol (Dick) Long of Warsaw, IN, Sharon (Bob) Brase of Fort Wayne, and Kathy (Joe) Dearheimer of Monticello, IN; and sister-in-law, Sally Maggart. Dean was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Maggart. Service is 1:00 pm, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. with calling two hours prior beginning at 11:00 am. Burial at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
