David A. Wilt, age 69, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2025, in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born in Fort Wayne to the late Ralph Wilt and Marcile Moor, David proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army. His skill as a professional carpenter led him to work on various movie sets, including Lonesome Dove and Spy Kids , where he formed friendships with Hollywood icons and enjoyed memorable gatherings with Tommy Lee Jones and Willie Nelson. A man of many talents and passions, David was a past member of the Fort Wayne Fraternal Order of Eagles and cherished spending time outdoors. He was a dedicated handyman, an avid golfer, and, most of all, he loved spending time with family.
David is survived by his children, Kristal Wilt and Kyle Wilt; his grandchildren, Kyndal, Kayla, and Macy; his siblings, Deborah Barrett, Elizabeth Shaw, Julie (Curt) Castetter, Marvin Duly, and Max (Karen) Moor; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Kerry Spradlin, and his stepmother, Marilyn Wilt.
