David "Dave" Lon Wehrly, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2024 at Parkview Randallia Hospital. He was born to the late Keith and Edna (Cummins) Wehrly in Portland, IN on January 7, 1931. He served in the US Air Force. Dave married Eva Lou in 1953. He worked in automotive for 40 years before retiring. He was a member Faith Baptist Church for many years along with Society of Antique Modelers (SAM) and Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA). Dave loved radio-controlled model airplanes, collector of model airplane engines, and car racing.

Dave is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Eva Lou; son, Mitchel (Mary) Wehrly; daughter, Andrea Wehrly Parson; grandchildren, Allyson (David) Kendall, David Wehrly, Logan Parson, Jay Parson; great-grandson, Carter Parson; brother, John (Barbara) Wehrly; and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at 11:00 am with visitation one hour prior at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street, Fort Wayne, IN 46825). Burial will follow the service at Highland Park Cemetery Fort Wayne.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Academy of Model Aeronautics.
