David W. Sorlie, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. He was born in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina while his father was serving in the Marines. David was the son of the late Jack and Myra (Pollock) Sorlie. Dave set a wonderful example of working hard and during his working years, David worked as a tire builder with BF Goodrich for 20 years, prior to working for the City of Fort Wayne where he worked in the weights and measurements department prior to his retirement. David was a devoted husband, loving father, and caring grandfather to his family. Family was his number one priority, and he absolutely loved making memories with all of them. Dave never met a stranger and would talk to anybody about anything. He had such a contagious laugh that will be missed by all those who knew him. Surviving is his wife, Lana Sorlie; children, Caleb (Honesty) Sorlie, Kyle (Trisha) Sorlie; grandchildren, Onyx, Caden, Lily, Kendall, Henley, Oakley, Henrick, Bradley; two great-grandchildren; sister, Debra (Jeffrey) Curtis; and niece Katie Bibeau; and nephew Jason Martin. A public visitation will take place on Tuesday November 12, 2024, from 3-5 p.m. and then 6-8 p.m. with an hour break in between located at Fairhaven Funeral Home (6557 N. Clinton Street). Funeral service is Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. located at Fairhaven Funeral Home with calling one hour prior starting at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Prairie Grove cemetery following the service on Wednesday.
