David Wayne Poling, 77, passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Grafton, West Virginia, David was a son of the late Clyde and Vera Poling. David graduated from Central High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War and earned the rank of CPL. David worked as an emergency serviceman with NIPSCO for over 40 years, prior to his retirement. David lived life to the fullest. He was able to travel the world, meet people from all walks of life and becoming friends. He had the unique ability to impact the people he met in a positive and lifechanging way. David was a church planter, having been part in 5 startup churches. David was active in volunteering at his son's church, Covenant Truth Ministries, where he served as an Elder. He enjoyed being active in his senior singles group. Surviving are his children; Jonathon (Kimberly) Poling, Shellie (R. Edward) Love, Heather (Jason) Jura; 6 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; siblings, Sharon Bush, Jerry (Peggy) Poling, and Dennis (Marie) Poling. David was preceded in death by his loving wife Laura Poling in 2010; and 7 siblings. Service is 6 pm, Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Victory Life Church, 1502 Rose Avenue New Haven, with calling from 4 pm until the service. Memorials may be made to Turnstone or Wounded Warriors Project.
