David Emmanuel Payne, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Dupont Hospital. Born in Du Quoin Illinois, David was the son of the late Emmanuel and Adeline (Rainey) Payne. David served our country as a U.S. Navy veteran and continued to be patriotic throughout his life. He worked as an engineer for several companies prior to his retirement. David was a member of Life Bridge Church and served as president of his home owners association. He enjoyed the lake, fishing, spending time with his late wife Cathy of 53 years and taking care of their property. David also enjoyed going to his god-children's sporting, church and school events. Surviving are his sister, Janis (Donald) Linville; god-children, Preston, Gabrielle, Olivia and Megan Kindler. A Celebration of David's Life will be 7 pm, Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Life Bridge Church, 12719 Corbin Road, with memorial calling one hour prior. Memorials may be made to Life Bridge Church.
