David D. Lawrence, 83, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Parkview Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born to the late Walter and Devota (Heidrich) Lawrence in Fort Wayne on May 20, 1939. David was a proud veteran of the US Army. He graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1957. He married the late Nancy Lee on September 8, 1962. David retired from Slater Steel after 32 years. He was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Jude Catholic Church. David loved fishing and hunting.

David is survived by his daughters, Julie (Jeff) Logsdon, Janice (Cherie Crooks) Lawrence, and Jennifer Nycum all of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Marsha Cochran, Mary (Dominic Bencivengo) Tippmann and Greg (Josie) Lawrence.

Mass of Christian Burial is Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 10:30 am with visitation one hour prior at St. Jude Catholic Church (2130 Pemberton Drive). Visitation will also be on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street) with a Rosary service at 7:30 pm.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Soup Kitchen or the Honor Flight Northeast Indiana.
