Obituary

David Edward Lauer, 77, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, David was the son of the late Anthony Edward and Clara (Sorg) Lauer. David graduated from Bishop Luers High School. He served our country proudly, in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for Essex for 26 years prior to working for Envelope Services until his retirement in 2011. David was a member of Bethel Ministries of Fort Wayne and enjoyed his Wednesday night Bible Studies. David enjoyed fishing, rooting on the Atlanta Braves, and hanging out with his friends. He loved his family and was very fond of his grandchildren. Surviving are his son, Jon Lauer, daughter-in-law Jenee Lauer; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Genevieve, and David Lauer. David was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Lauer in 2005. Service is 11 am, Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Bethel Ministries, 8405 Lima Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 4 pm to 7 pm at the church. Burial with Army Honors in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors Project.
