David L. Hood, 70, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Saturday, September 6, 2025.  He was born in Fort Wayne to the late Robert and Mildred Hood, David dedicated his life to hard work, family, and the simple joys of the outdoors.

A skilled electrician, David was a proud member of Local 305 and also served in maintenance roles at several companies in Grabill, IN. He was a longtime member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 160 in Roanoke, IN. David had a passion for classic cars and enjoyed participating in car shows. He loved spending time outdoors, especially at the lake and in his garden, where he spent countless hours.

David is survived by his beloved life partner of 30 years, Catherine Walter; his children, Mindy Hood, Jeremy Hood, Stacey (Josh) Brames, and Jeff (Brandi) Walter; grandchildren, Christopher (Samantha) Cooke, Bryan Nash, Taylor (Adam) Parsons, Damon (Mara) Hood, Mikayla (Caleb) Hill, Arizona Brames, Dakota Brames, Nicole Walter, Caitlyn Walter, and Elijah Walter; and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Michael Hood, Joetta Miller, and Rob Hood; and nephew, Jason (Annie) Miller.  He was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Nathaniel.
