David L. Hontz, 79, of Fort Wayne, IN, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025.  He was born in Kendallville, IN, to the late Herbert Hontz and Margaret Engle.

David proudly served his country in both the United States Navy and Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he spent his career in accounting with the AADP. Outside of work, David was an avid fisherman who found joy on the water, whether boating or casting a line. He also cherished time spent playing euchre with friends.  David's greatest joy was his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Lynn Hontz; his children, Rob (Heather) Hontz, Jim (Jeanette) Hontz, Ted Hontz, and Hollissa (Michael) Estep; six grandchildren, Cameron (26), Jackson (26), Annabelle (19), Jasmine (17), Madelyn (17), and Westin (8); and siblings Pat Persons and John (Rinda) Hontz.

Service is 2:00 pm, Monday, September 15, 2025 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton St. with calling one hour prior.  Burial to take place at Leo Memorial Park, of Leo, IN.  Memorials may be made to the family.  To sign the online guestbook, go www.fairhavenfortwayne.com
