David L. "Dave" Barker, 82, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2022. Born in Allen County, Indiana, Dave was a son of the late Forrest and Thelma Barker. Dave served our country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. Dave worked for Tokheim for 10 years prior to his 38 year career with GTE/Verizon until his retirement in 2006. He loved raising his Morgan Horses. Dave was an avid IU Basketball and Bobby Knight fan. Surviving are his children, Brad Barker, Brett Barker, Brian Barker, Lisa Somin, Charles "Tony" Barker; step-daughter, Bethany Meyers; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Lanila Barker; siblings, Bruce Barker, Paul Barker, Kathryn Knefelkamp, Barbara Klinker; step-son, James "Brian" Malone, and daughter-in-law, Marsha Barker. Service is 10:30 am, Monday, May 23, 2022 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling one hour prior. Calling also Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the funeral home from 2 pm to 5 pm. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Parkview Home, Health, and Hospice.
