David Lee Aker, 83, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, David was a son of the late Russell Aker and Alice Moser. David was a homebuilder for over 60 years, having owned and operated Dave Aker Builder. He enjoyed golfing, outdoor home projects, watching IU sports, and he loved animals especially his cats. David was humble, a smart, and kind man that enjoyed spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife Donna Aker; children, David (Debbie) Aker, Don (Joanne) Aker; step-children, Nicole (Greg) Allred, Jennifer (Brian) Murphy; grandchildren, Noelani (Drew) McIntosh, Joshua (Mandi) Aker, Daniel Aker, Thomas Aker, Chad (Leanna) Buck; 4 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and brother, Mike (Carolyn) Aker. David was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Aker; and sister, Bonnie Durnell. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 am, Saturday, January 22, 2022 at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church. Calling also Friday, January 21, 2022 from 5 pm to 8 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street. Entombment in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Mask are required. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice or Alzheimer's Association.
