Darrell Zane "Chewy" Anderson, 63, of South Whitley, Ind passed away on September 30th, 2025. Chewy was born on June 5th, 1962, in Carson City Michigan. He was a lifelong resident of South Whitley and graduate of Whitko High School class of 1980. Chewy built a career as a master carpenter and welder and was proud to use these skills to help family and friends with countless projects. Chewy was an avid golfer, fisherman, and loved being in the woods whether hunting for deer or mushrooms. He was passionate about sports and loved watching his Vikings, Blackhawks, and Komets.
Family was the most important thing to Chewy and he would do anything for them.
He is survived by his wife and constant companion of 42 years, Deb; son, Zach (Liz) ; stepdaughter, Alicia; brothers, Randy and Shawn (Julie); sister, Renee; sister-in-law, Deb; grandchildren, Jason, Arli, Natalyia, and Jade; 7 cherished great grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and friends.
Chewy was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Virginia; and oldest brother Dusty.
Chewy's wishes were to be cremated. A gathering was held prior to his passing and there will be no further services.
