Obituary

Daniel Joseph Dienelt, born on July 7, 1946, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on October 8, 2026.

Dan graduated from Concordia High School before continuing his education at Hillsdale College, where he played football. He went on to build a 48-year career as a State Farm Insurance agent, serving individuals and families and building lasting relationships throughout his many years in the profession.

Outside of work, Dan enjoyed riding his bike, spending time in Florida, and following his favorite sports teams. An avid Chicago Cubs and Indiana Hoosiers fan, he remained loyal to his teams through all the excitement and disappointments that come with being a true fan.

A strong and dependable presence and cornerstone of his family, Dan especially cherished his grandchildren, attending their events, celebrating their accomplishments, and sharing life’s special moments. The memories they created together will live on for generations. Dan leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion that will continue to guide and inspire the family he loved so deeply. He will be greatly missed and forever remembered.

Dan is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; his children, Daniel Dienelt, Ted(Samantha) Dienelt, Brady(Tiffany) Cain, and Amy(Greg) Hall; his grandchildren; Cody(Kyrstin) Kohn, Segment(Burhan) Dohadwala, Taylor Dienelt, Nikita Pinckney, Auset Pinckney, Courtney Dienelt, Kyra Pinckney, Cain Pinckney, Grant Kellam, and Hannah Dienelt; great grandchild, Marcel Pinckney.

Visitation will be Sunday October 25th; 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Fairhaven Funeral Home, 6557 N. Clinton St. Funeral will be held Monday, October 26th at Concordia Lutheran Church at 4245 Lake Ave. Visitation from 10-11am and funeral at 11am.
