Dana Ruth Gurney, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at The Towne House Retirement Community. Dana was born in Peru, IN to the late C. Miller and Ruth Ault. She was a registered dietitian and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics for 55 years. She received her undergraduate degree from Valparaiso University and she earned her master's degree from Indiana University Medical Center. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and she was a member of the Marion Easter Pageant. Faith was an important part of Dana's life as she was a long-time member of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Marion, IN. She was currently a member of First Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne. Dana is survived by her husband, Lester; son, Allen Gurney of Portland, OR; daughter in law, Beth Levy of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Ebba Gurney of Ann Arbor, MI; grandson, Soren Gurney of Ann Arbor, MI; brother, Carl Ault of Rochester, IN; sister-in-law, Rita Ault of Rochester, IN, stepsister, Jane Burns (Richard) of Rochester, IN and several nieces and nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Gurney. A Celebration of Life will take place at The Towne House Retirement Community Towne Hall room, 2209 St Joe Center Road, on Sunday November 9th 2025, at 3:00 pm with memorial visitation beginning at 2:00 pm.
