IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dale Paul
Pequignot
May 24, 1946 – February 25, 2026
Celebration of Life
FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services
12:00 - 4:00 pm (Eastern time)
Our favorite rock-n-roller, Dale Paul Pequignot, 79, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. He was born to the late John A. and Birnelle A. (Urbine) Pequignot on May 24, 1946 in Fort Wayne.
As drummer and lead singer of the Junk Yard Band, Dale and his band mates entertained the community for close to 50 years, making lasting friendships which he never took for granted. Dale now resides in rock-n-roll heaven, still jamming with the best.
Dale’s love for art provided him a career as an art teacher for Fort Wayne Community Schools, where he inspired countless kids for over 30 years. Upon his retirement, he was a spokesperson for Parkview Hospital’s “Don’t Drink and Drive” program, which was one of his many passions.
On hot summer days, Dale cruised around in his 57 Chevy, attending car shows such as Goodguys and Muddy River Run, and stopping at a hamburger stand or two. Dale had an immense love for movies – old and new. As an avid collector, Dale displayed movie posters and memorabilia in his incredible home theater, The Pequignot Classic Theater. Dale always looked forward to the tradition of Tuesday movie nights. He also attended various film conventions throughout the years. Dale was a loyal fan of the Fort Wayne Komets, attending games since he was a young child.
Along with his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his first wife Susan.
Dale is survived by his loving wife Tricia, children; D.J. (Lindsey) and Eric (Sarah), step sons; Nic (Jennifer) Ross, Brandon (Jennifer) Ross and Adam (Molly) Ross, 10 grandchildren and his sister Susan (Dave) Patton.
Dale was always in awe of all his fans who “partied with the Junk Yard Band”. He never took them for granted. Dale was a fighter for everything that he loved; family and friends. His strength and positivity were an inspiration to many. He was a quiet, kind soul with a great sense of humor. He was generous with his time and love. As we navigate our lives without him, just remember…
“It’s 9 o’clock and it’s time to rock!”
