Dale "DJ" Gray, 12 years old, of Fort Wayne, passed away at Riley's Hospital for Children, on Thursday June 15th 2023, just one day before his 13th birthday. DJ was going into the 8th grade at Lane Middle School. He played the saxophone for the Northside High School Marching Band and the band at Lane. DJ loved playing his video games, adored animals and fishing and playing soccer. He had many friends, but his best friend was his older sister, Christina, to whom he really looked up. DJ was a thoughtful and compassionate young man with a good sense of humor.
DJ is survived by his mother, Lauren Johnson; his father, Erwin Dale Gray; sister, Christina Gray; grandparents, Jon and Jill Blackwood, Nina and Steven Haag, and Glen and Carolyn Gray; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. A Celebration of Life for DJ will take place on Saturday July 8th 2023 at 11 am with visitation from 9- 11 am all at Pathway Community Church, 1010 Carroll Road. The family kindly requests that you do not wear black or dark clothing as this is a celebration and bright colors are appreciated. In lieu of flowers DJ's family requests preferred memorials be directed to Riley Hospital for Children-PICU, Pathway Community Church Food Bank or Christina's College Fund.
