D. Marlene Miller, age 90, of Kendallville, IN passed away Monday, October 25, 2021 in Butler, IN. She was born in Reading, PA to the late Lester and Mabel Lerch. Marlene worked as nurse with the VA Hospital, Byron Health Center, and the American Red Cross until her retirement in the late 90's. She continued to volunteer her time for several years thereafter.

She graduated from Fort Wayne Central High School in 1949 and married her sweetheart, Jean Edward Miller on December 22nd 1951 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne, IN. Later in life, she attended LPN school at Ivy Tech and graduated in 1982.

Marlene, affectionately known as GiGi to her grandson, Logan, enjoyed baking, crocheting, gardening, ceramics, and a good crossword puzzle. She was always the first one to offer to bring a dish to any family event and her family members would literally elbow past each other to get a taste of whatever she made.

Marlene is survived by her daughter-in-law, Carol Miller of Kendallville, IN; granddaughters, Samantha Michael and Amanda (Robert) Koch; and her great grandson, Logan Koch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jean Miller; son, Keith Miller; her infant sister, Elise Mae Lerch and her great granddog, Olive Miller.

A joint service for Marlene and Keith will be held at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 6557 N. Clinton St. 6:00 pm, on Thursday, October 28, 2021 with calling three hours prior beginning at 3:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Christ's Child Society.
