Curtis Anthony Smith, 49, passed away September 19, 2026. He was born and raised in West Virginia.
Curtis was a coach of various sports for many years and especially enjoyed coaching taekwondo. He had a very competitive nature and was extremely proud to be a three-time American Taekwondo Association (ATA) World Champion. He was a very hard-working husband and father. He would stop at nothing to provide for his family. He never knew a stranger. He enjoyed talking to anyone he met and will be remembered for his loving heart. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Danielle Smith; children, Caliann Smith, Chyla Smith, Carlyana Smith, Cameron Smith; brothers and sisters, Glenn Smith (Missy), Terry Jr. "TJ" Smith (Karie), George "Phillip" Smith (Sylvia), Haiden Smith, Jennifer Harrah, Kassie Kinder, Kelsie Kinder; biological sister, Carter Wright; grandparents, Luther and Wanda Smith; father, Terry (Judy) Smith; aunts and uncles, Luke (Jane) Smith, Ronnie (Deana) Smith, Jon (Traci) Smith and Nioka (Thomas) Righter; nephews and nieces, Tyler, Lani, Colton, Audrina, Lilly, Layla, Mia, Myla, Maverick, Brantley and Dr. Jessica Crislip; brother-in-laws, Darrell (Michele), Shane and Cecil Crislip (Heather); biological father, Curtis "Scott" Wright.; special friends, Chief Master Marvin Foster and Margi Foster.
He was preceded in death by his mom, Cynthia "Cindee" Smith.
A funeral service will take place on Monday September 28, 2026, at 6 pm, located at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services (6557 N. Clinton Street) with visitation from 4 pm until the service. A funeral service and burial in West Virginia will take place at a later date.
