Obituary

Cris Alan Davis, 57, of Auburn, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on September 10, 2023 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born to parents Robert Davis and Judith Sherwood on October 16, 1965, in Garrett, Indiana.
Our dad graduated from high school in 1984. After high school, he went on to trade school and obtained his welding certificates. Most of our dad's career was in maintenance; however, he dabbled in home finances, welding, and building trades.
Dad was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. Family meant more to my dad than anything else in the world. He was always one call or text away. No matter if the need was big or small, he was there.
Dad loved to be the life of the party and wanted to make sure everyone was having a good time. He had a way of making people laugh at his corny dad jokes, and if that did not get you, the sound of his laugh would. Dad also loved playing pranks/scaring people when they least expected it. He wouldn't tell you this personally, but he never turned down a good makeover by the grandkids, and yes, that included hair, nails, and make-up anything to make them happy.
Dad was an adrenalin junkie who loved riding all the rollercoasters and setting off the biggest and loudest fireworks he could get his hands on.
If Dad was not at home, you would find him outdoors, walking a trail or casting a line in the water, but if he was home, you better lock your cabinets and fridge because that man could eat.
Anyone who knew our dad knew that he was the most loving father, grandfather, and husband a family could ask for. Dad was predeceased by his father, a brother (Craig Davis), grandparents, and many aunts and uncles. Dad is survived by the love of his life, Teresa, daughters Courtney (Kyle) Carper of Auburn and Megan Davis of Fort Wayne, grandchildren Tessa Sue and Tasia Lynn Carper of Auburn, a brother Corey (Lisa) Hensinger, Nephews Tim and Trevor Hensinger, Niece Tori Hensinger and his mother Judi Sherwood of Auburn.
We mourn the loss of our father and encourage all who knew him to remember the energy, joy and love he brought to this world. We will hold a celebration of life to honor our father at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family in care- Courtney Carper.
