Cornelia "Connie" L. Shideler, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in Fort Wayne surrounded by her family. She was born in Huntington, IN to the late Howard and Maro Shideler. Connie worked 40 years for Fort Wayne Community Schools, first as a teacher and later as principal for Abbett Elementary. She was an active member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church. Connie is survived by her nieces, Deb (Doug) Thorpe of Highlands Ranch, CO and Linda (Brian) Wood of Brownsburg, IN; and nephews, Steven (Michelle) Shideler of Huntington, VA and David (Rebecca) Shideler of Fort Wayne. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph Shideler and Howard Shideler; and nephew, Daniel Shideler. A private family service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Fairhaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
