Colleen Ann Pontius went to be with her Heavenly Father on December 24, 2025. Colleen was born to Helen and Fred Gerlach on March 10, 1942. She married Richard Pontius on October 20, 1961. Colleen gave birth to infant Pontius on November 26, 1962. He passed away six hours after birth.

She was the mother of Donna (Mark) Bieker, Doreen (Tony) Meier, and Danny (Melinda) Pontius, all of Fort Wayne, IN. Colleen worked for Fort Wayne Community Schools for 20 years as a librarian at Snider High School. She was a member of Leo Methodist Church. She was the grandmother of six grandchildren, Payton Bieker, Jessica Dilley, Tenessa Merryman, Cassie Pontius, Jordan Meier, and Jacob Meier, and eight great-granddaughters.

A funeral service will take place at 2pm on Sunday, December 28, located at Fairhaven Funeral Home (6557 N. Clinton Street) with calling from 12 pm until the service. A private graveside service will take place at a later date.

Colleen’s family extends their gratitude to the staff at Lutheran Life Villages and Paradigm Hospice. In lieu of flowers, Colleen's family requests that donations be made to Leo Methodist Church or Lutheran Life Villages, The Village at Pine Valley.
