Obituary
Christanne Lee Deitering, 56, passed away on Saturday, January 18, 2025 after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Christanne was the daughter of the late George Randall Bauer and Cheryl Kay Bauer who survives. Christanne graduated from Woodlan High School and earned her bachelors degree from Indiana Tech. During her working career, she worked as director of marketing for Verizon for many years prior to her working for the Do It Best Corporation where she was serving as manager of new store conversions. Christanne enjoyed being outdoors, tending to her garden, making crafts, and traveling with her husband Robert “Bob” to the Upper Peninsula in Michigan several times each year. She loved her family and absolutely adored her grandson Randall James “RJ” Johnson. Surviving are her husband, Bob Deitering; son, Devin (Renee) Johnson; grandson, Randall James “RJ” Johnson; step-sons, Jacob Deitering, Nicholas (Chelsea) Deitering, Tyler Deitering; step-granddaughter, June Deitering; brother, Todd Bauer; best friend, Debra Green; nephews, Trent (Kelsey) Bauer, Tyler (Yasmin) Bauer; along with many aunts, uncles, and extended family members. Christanne was preceded in death by her father, George Bauer and uncle, Homer Odum. A Celebration of Christanne's Life will be held at 1 pm, Saturday, August 16, 2025 at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 6557 N. Clinton Street, with calling from 11 am until the service. Memorials may be made to the Do It Best Foundation, Mustard Seed Furniture Bank and the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission-Charis House.
