Cheryl M. Smith (Handschy), 48, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, May 7th 2022. She graduated from North Side High School class of 1992. Cheryl was an animal lover. She enjoyed spending time caring for her flower gardens, shopping for jewelry, and especially spending time with family at get togethers.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Bill; her fur babies, Bentley Boy, and Henry Tucker; mother, Barb Handschy; brother, Chuck (Lori) Handschy Jr; sisters in law, Elaine (Gary) Shea, and Carol (late Michael) Mattern; stepson, Josh Smith; nieces and nephews, Tyler (Carrie) Shea, Chandler Shea, Anna (Justin) Zantowski, and Jeremy Mattern; great nephews, Mason, Treyson, and Jaxon; great nieces, Leigha, and Amiyah. Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Chuck Handschy Sr.
Memorial Service for Cheryl will take place on Monday, May 16th, at 7:00 pm with calling 2 hours prior beginning at 5:00 pm at FairHaven Funeral Home and Cremation Services 6557 N Clinton St. in Fort Wayne. Preferred Memorials in Cheryl's honor may be directed to Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control.
