Cheri A. Kaufmann, 70, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 in Fort Wayne. She was born on September 1, 1951, in Riley, KS to the late Harold and Bettie Roberts.
Cheri worked as a teacher in a variety of private schools. For some students she also served as the ride to school, the after school caregiver, and the first cheerleader pushing them to succeed. In the late 90s she started a school in Belize where she served students with special needs. In recent years she worked as a caregiver to adults with developmental disabilities.
She was a member of St.Paul's Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne where she was known for volunteering to bring snacks to working teams, and being as involved as possible with the elementary school. She will always be remembered for her giving spirit and willingness to serve.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Craig Kaufmann. Also surviving are her children: Joshua Kaufmann, Jacqueline (Shaun) Flotow, Darrin Kaufmann, Clara Kaufmann, and Jacob Kaufmann; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Debbie (Jeff) Davis, Leslie (Don) Walters, Edwin (Ixora) Roberts, and Dwight (Helaine) Roberts. Cheri was preceded in death by one grandchild.
