Obituary

Charlotte Joanne Bacon (Gephart), 91, surrounded by her loving family, departed from this life to be with our Lord on Sunday June 23, 2024 (Two days shy of her 67th wedding anniversary). Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on December 1st, 1932, to the late Elmer and Berneice Gephart. She graduated from North Side High School in 1952. She was a member of the Grace Point Church of the Nazarene in Fort Wayne. She met her husband Paul D. Bacon on a blind date where they watched Holiday-On-Ice. After several years of dating, Paul proposed to her after she bused down from Indiana to visit him while he was stationed in Cape Canaveral, Florida. On June 25, 1957, Charlotte married the love of her life. Together Charlotte and Paul traveled throughout the east-coast. While living in Massachusetts, Charlotte gave birth to three children: Jeffrey, Teri, and Timothy. Charlotte, Paul, and their three children moved back to Leo, Indiana where they raised their family. While living in Leo, Charlotte worked at KinderCare and other daycare facilities. Also, while in Leo, Charlotte picked up hobbies like quilting, knitting, and scrapbooking. Later in life she and her husband moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where they currently reside. Charlotte enjoyed being a part of a knitting group and was always knitting gifts for friends and family. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Paul D. Bacon—their 3 children; Jeffrey (Ana) Bacon, Fort Wayne, Indiana, Teri Bacon, Saint Augustine, Florida, and Timothy (Tim) Bacon, Fort Wayne, Indiana—and her 5 grandchildren; Hilary, Michelle, Jeffrey, Isabel, and Caden, and 3 great-grandchildren; Haydn, Owen and Mariah. Preceding her in death were her parents.
