Carrie L Jones, 79, passed away Monday, July 18, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. Carrie was born on December 31, 1942 in Uniontown Alabama. When she be came of age Carrie moved to Fort Wayne Indiana. During her working years Carrie worked at a doctor's office as an assistant for 12 years and became a cook at State Development School for 30 years. She absolutely loved her job as a cook and that transferred over to her daily life. Carrie enjoyed cooking for her family and eating her food as well. She was a member of Grace United Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are her children, Charles (Toinette) Jones Jr., Rotrice (Zondre) Phinezy; grandchildren, Brittany Humpfrey, Troy, Tia, Zyann, Damarion and DreShawn Phinezy; siblings, Nadine McFarland, Barbara (Rory) Snipes, Debra Dowdell, Rachel Wilson, Robert Wilson Jr., Darrell Wilson, and Andre Wilson. Carrie was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Woods; husband, Charles Jones Sr., siblings, Mary Wilson, Jeanette Wilson, Willie Wilson, and Raymond Wilson. Service is 11 am, Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Grace United Missionary Baptist Church, 2101 Phenie Street, with calling one hour prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
